How the idea came about

I've always had the itch to start a business , even though I didn't know exactly what. I considered being a freelance photographer , a marketing consultant , or even starting a roast beef brand . To be honest, I shied away from the idea of ​​starting a cheesecake brand. Everything was pushing me toward it, but I knew it was a product that was in the sights of many people in a very saturated market. One day, after bringing a homemade cheesecake to a birthday party and seeing how everyone kept repeating it and asking where it was from, I knew there was room for another one. I adapted a basic recipe to my liking, with only four ingredients, and launched Maritta as a hobby while continuing to work in marketing. I started with a classic cake without a base or flour, but customers asked for new flavors, so we expanded the variety without losing the artisan essence. The reception was so positive that a year later, we won second prize in the 2025 Best Cheesecake in the Community of Madrid competition.

Our recipe: simple, gluten-free and perfect for everyone

After the competition, our classic recipe remained true to its essence: we used only cream cheese , sugar, egg, and cream. Nothing else. There's no cookie base or additives to distract from the star. This simplicity made our cake, without even trying, gluten-free and suitable for celiacs.
